Trauma-Responsive Parent Community Meetings
Roanoke City Schools are hosting Trauma-Responsive Parent Community Meetings.  They will take place January 13 at William Fleming High School and January 22 at Patrick Henry High School.  Join us at 6 p.m. for a conversation about preventing and healing adverse childhood experiences.  Any parent is welcome to attend and dinner will be served.

About Us

The primary goal of ROTEC/CTE classes is to insure that all students graduate with the skills to be college and career ready. ROTEC is the Center for Career and Technical Education (CTE) that offers courses to prepare students with the knowledge and skills for employment and/or further education. Students are encouraged to explore CTE programs in grades 9 and/or 10, and then select a ROTEC major program area of study for grades 11 and 12. Most of the ROTEC courses offer students the chance to earn dual enrollment through Virginia Western Community College, and all programs offer students the opportunity to earn industry certifications within their program of study. Students attend classes at the Gibboney Center (located on the campus of Patrick Henry High School) for those courses that require a lab setting. Additional CTE courses are taught at the William Fleming, Patrick Henry, Noel C. Taylor and Forest Park High School campuses. Students can explore a variety of careers with programs offered in Building Trades,Culinary Arts, Medical Sciences, Pre-Engineering, Teaching, TV/Video Production, Computer Applications, Robotics, Cosmetology, Automotive Repair, Web Design, and a variety of courses in the areas of Business and Marketing.
